Travel Tips

Here are some of my travel tips, gained from years of experience bouncing around the world.

Keep in mind that the vast majority of my travels have been done as a solo traveler, so my perspective might be a little different than yours.  Traveling solo gives you tremendous flexibility and freedom, plus it makes it much easier to interact with the locals.  The downside to solo travel is not having anyone to whom you can say, “Wow!  Would you look at that?!?!”

Packing Checklist

If you haven’t figured it out, I’m a geek.  To help remember what to bring on trips, I’ve created a packing and travel checklist in Excel that I use before each trip.  It not only reminds me of the things to pack, but of things to do around the house to make sure it’s prepared for an extended absence.

Remember, I’m a single guy, so I won’t have every need covered here, but you can use it as a starting point for your own checklist.
